New York Yankees Kids Jerseys — Custom, Baby to Youth
A kids Yankees jersey can carry any name you want — your child’s name, Aaron Judge’s No. 99, or no name at all, the way the real home pinstripes have always been worn. The sizes run the whole ladder: baby 6M through 24M, toddler 2T to 4T, preschool 4 to 7, and youth XS to XL. For a lot of families the custom version ends up meaning the most, because the name on the back is the kid standing in your living room, not a guy on TV.

Yankees Kids Jersey Sizes, Explained
Every rung of the ladder exists for this team, which is not true of most clubs. Yankees kids jerseys are made from the first baby sizes all the way to youth XL:
| Size | Typical weight | Typical length/height | Fit note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6M, 12M, 18M, 24M (baby) | 12-24 lb | 26-33 in | Button-front jerseys and creeper styles for the littlest fans |
| 2T, 3T, 4T (toddler) | 28-38 lb | 34.5-41 in | Shorter, rounder cut made for diapers and constant motion |
| 4, 5, 6, 7 (preschool) | 38-55 lb | 41-50 in | Numbered sizes — longer and slimmer than the T sizes |
| XS, S, M, L, XL (youth) | 45-95+ lb | 45-60 in | Closest to the on-field cut; where custom name jerseys shine |
- Between sizes? Size up. A jersey bought in April should still fit for a September pennant race, and kids rarely grow slower than you planned.
- Button-fronts are a handful on a squirming baby. For the under-2 crowd, the creeper and onesie styles in the baby department go on faster and stay put better than a full button-front.
- A 4T is not a preschool 4. Same number, different cut — the T sizes are built shorter and rounder for toddlers.
- Custom names can’t be exchanged as easily as blank ones. Double-check the spelling before you order; a misspelled nameplate is forever.

Plenty of parents skip the player name entirely and go with the plain pinstripes. A blank jersey can’t get traded away in July, and it matches what the team actually wears at home:

The Nameless Pinstripes, and Other Yankees Things Worth Knowing
The Yankees are the one team whose home jersey has never carried a player’s name. Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle, Jeter — every one of them wore plain pinstripes with just the NY on the chest. That’s why the blank and custom debate is a real one in Yankees families: the blank matches history, while a custom jersey puts your kid’s name where no Yankee’s name has ever gone, which is its own kind of fun. The retired numbers live out in Monument Park beyond the center-field fence, 27 World Series titles deep, and on summer Sundays the Bleacher Creatures still chant each starter’s name until he waves back. Most families ride the 4 train to 161st Street, and a kid’s first sight of that green field from the station platform does more recruiting than any parent ever could.
Babe Ruth NY Yankees Kids Jersey
The throwback end of the department belongs to the biggest name of all. Babe Ruth hit 714 home runs, and his No. 3 has been retired since 1948 — his jersey is the one grandfathers point at:

Yankees Kids Custom Jersey FAQ
Can a kids Yankees jersey really have any name on it? Yes — the custom option in the Yankees kids jerseys department lets you put your child’s name and a chosen number on the back, in the same style as the player jerseys.
Why do so many families choose the blank pinstripes? Two reasons: the real home jersey has never had a name on it, so the blank is the authentic look — and a blank can never be outdated by a trade.
What size fits a typical 3-year-old? Most 3-year-olds wear a 3T; a tall or solid 3-year-old is often happier in a 4T with growing room. The weight and height columns in the table above beat the age on the tag.
Is a button-front jersey practical for a baby? It’s adorable in photos and a wrestle at 2 a.m. For everyday wear under 24 months, the creeper styles in the baby department snap faster and ride up less.
Which current Yankee do kids ask for most? Aaron Judge, the captain — his No. 99 is the department’s most requested player jersey, with Babe Ruth the favorite throwback.
